Getting Started
If your HVAC contractor recommends the IST Monitor for your home, you can be sure that he is putting you, his customer, first. With advanced diagnosis, most maintenance problems are addressed and corrected before they become major expenses.
First, your contractor installs the IST Monitor on your heating and cooling equipment and connects it to your phone line. Then, from his office, he remotely initiates the monitoring service through the online IST Data Center. Finally, the activated IST Monitor, with its system of electronic sensors, continuously keeps an eye on all the key functions of your HVAC systems.
IST Monitoring System Steps
Detect Developing Problems — The IST Monitor continually evaluates the internal operations of your HVAC equipment, scanning a number of common problem areas on your equipment, and reports this data to the IST Data Center. You and your contractor can remotely access these reports at any time through our website.
Diagnose The Cause — When a sensor on the IST Monitor detects any operation outside of the pre-set standards, the monitor immediately reports the information to the IST Data Center via a toll-free telephone call, alerting you and/or your contractor by email, fax, text message and/or pager. This information is used to diagnose the severity and nature of the problem.
Determine The Course of Action — Once the diagnosis is made, it can be determined whether immediate attention or a simple adjustment on a routine service call is required. Your contractor will contact you with a recommended course of action, ultimately preventing costly expenses such as HVAC-caused water damage or complete equipment failure.
About the IST DATA CENTER
The IST Data Center is a server that collects and interprets information sent from your IST Monitor and displays it online in the form of detailed reports for you and/or your contractor to review. The Data Center stores both current and past performance data, so if you’re selling your home, you can show the buyer a record of the HVAC equipment operation and up-keep, which adds a measurable value to your home. At IST, we want you to be informed on how well your system is performing; therefore, IST will send you performance reports of your HVAC equipment every quarter.
